Dear Parents:
In March, fourth graders will begin participating in an award-winning intergenerational program that promotes mutual respect, understanding, and friendships between elementary school students and older adults in the community, BRIDGES: Growing Older, Growing Together.
In this program, adult senior volunteers from the community visit students once a week for six weeks. Working in small groups under the guidance of the classroom teacher, the students and seniors discuss and compare life experiences, share their thoughts and observations about themselves, and enjoy learning from one another.
This can be a special opportunity for grandparents and older family friends who are special to your child to participate in his or her school life. I encourage you and your child to invite someone special to volunteer. The program is easy for volunteers to take part in and is fun and rewarding for all.
Below are the dates for the sessions. To register, volunteers should contact Kathy Lawless at kathylawless@verizon.net by February 1, 2017.
Bridges Together • Memorial Elementary • 2017

From the Office:
If your child is ordering from the lunch menu, please remind them that what ever they tell the teacher in the morning is what the cafe is preparing for them. Making changes once they get in the line creates shortages for the later lunches. We want to make sure everyone gets what they want!
Does your child look like this doing math homework?
Come and learn tips for helping with Math homework!
