FROM THE OFFICE
Just a reminder that tonight is the PTO-sponsored Family Halloween Party for Memorial School Families here at our school. It will run from 6:30 to 8pm. Please enter through the front door, and remember that children must be accompanied by an adult. Happy Halloween, everyone! And thank you, PTO, for helping us celebrate it in style!
FROM the PTO:
Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 7pm in the Library. Please join us! (And visit our website at www.memorialschoolpto.org)
Together, we can make our children’s education richer, more meaningful, and more fun too!
GRATITUDE – Filling Buckets (Theirs & Ours Too)
Treats for Our Troops
THE DAY after HALLOWEEN IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER, and you may find yourself with more candy on your hands than you know what to do with! If so, we have a solution for you! Donate the extra candy to our troops overseas! Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 1st, extra candy may be dropped off to the Treats for our Troops box on the table inside the office here at Memorial. If you have a loved one or dear friend stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan that you would like to have included in the list of recipients, please contact Caroline Mallard at treatsforourtroops@gmail.com.
Honor Our Heroes
Once again, Memorial School will participate in the “Helping Our Troops” campaign! In today’s backpack folders is a Wish List of items for those stationed overseas. This is a tangible way for our school and the community at large to show support and appreciation of our troops overseas. Donations of the kinds of items on the Wish List (like non perishable food items, toiletries, magazines, decks of cards, etc.) will help to make their time away from home a little less difficult, and remind them that out-of-sight does not mean out-of-mind. There is a large box in the school office for these items. Donations are due by Monday, November 14th. Thank you for helping! And thank you to Nicole Dupuis for organizing our involvement in this important project!
VETERANS’ DAY IS COMING
One of our special traditions at Memorial School is honoring those who have served our country in the Armed Services. We hope you will join us on Wednesday, November 9th at 9am as we pay tribute to those who have served, or are serving still. If you are a veteran, or know of someone who is, who would like to attend the ceremony, please send his or her name, and your name too, to Mrs. Rickershauser at rickershauser@bpsk12.org so they may be properly and respectfully recognized.
