Halloween Inclusion at Memorial

Ms. Beers (a good witch) from the LABBB program at Memorial got her iPad ready...

Tristan read the entire story, The Big Pumpkin, to Mrs. Gonzalez's fourth grade class. He used the most interesting
voices to bring each character to life!
GREAT JOB

We are so lucky to have teachers like Mrs. Gonzalez and Ms. Beers at Memorial School who bring a strong community of learners together.

Parent Pick-Up Reminder: Please remember school dismissal for children in grades 1-5 is at 2:15pm.  It is essential that “Parent Pick Up” are picked up at this time as there is no adult supervision after 2:15pm.  The school day is over for students once they have left the building, unless they are staying for a school-sponsored event (i.e. homework club, math club, etc).  Please also remember for safety and security reasons since teaching staff is not on duty,  we cannot allow students (accompanied by a parent) back into the building to collect items they have forgotten.  Forgotten items (instruments, clothing, homework etc.) can be retrieved the next school day during school hours.  Thank you for ensuring the safety of our children.
If student supervision is required after 2:15pm, please contact the After School Programs available at Memorial: The YMCA at 781-270-6869 or The Burlington After School Program at 781-270-1708.

Veteran’s Day Assembly:  One of our special traditions at Memorial School is honoring those who have served our country in the Armed Services.  Each year, a  grade level leads us in honoring veterans and those currently serving our country in a whole school sing along.  This year’s assembly will be held on Monday, November 9th, at 1pm in the cafetorium.  Families are welcome to join us for this special ceremony.  If you know of a veteran, or a current serviceman or woman who would be available at that time, please invite them to attend!

From the Nurse:  Halloween Safety- Please remember that costumes should be comfortable, fireproof, and reflective.  Eyeholes should allow unimpeded vision.  All candy should be inspected before consumption.  Wrapped “goodies” are safest.  Any props for costumes should be inspected for safety (no sharp points or dangerous parts).  Flashlights should have new batteries.  Younger children should trick or treat with an adult and only go to known neighborhoods.  Parents should know where older children are going and set a return tim.  HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE!

21st Annual Coats for Kids:  Please donate your gently used winter coats for children and adults.  Any warm, winter coats, gently used, good quality, all sizes needed (Especially XL, & Pre-K sizes).    Please do not drop off any coats with rips, tears, broken zippers, or permanent stains.  Sweatshirts, vests, and spring coats are not needed.  You may drop of coats in the main lobby of Memorial School, there will be a box in the lobby.  Once collected and cleaned, coats are distributed by social service agents to those in need within the community.  The coat drive will run Oct 12th - Jan 8th.
