From Miss Bannon & Mr. Peterson: Please help us support the Burlington Food Pantry by bringing a non-perishable food item to the 6th Annual Turkey Trot race on Wednesday, November 26th. Grade 5 - 8:45, Grade 4- 9:45, and Grade 3 - 10:40am. If you are unable to attend, and would still like to donate, please drop off items in the box located outside the office now until Nov 26th.
THANK YOU! to the many families who contributed to the Treats for Our Troops Box. Your generosity will put smiles on the faces of many people, especially during the holidays when they are so far from home and family.
20th Annual Coats for Kids: Please donate your gently used winter coats for children and adults. Any warm, winter coats, gently used, good quality, all sizes needed (Especially XL, & Pre-K sizes). Please do not drop off any coats with rips, tears, broken zippers, or permanent stains. Sweatshirts, vests, and spring coats are not needed. You may drop of coats in the main lobby of Memorial School, there will be a box in the lobby. Once collected and cleaned, coats are distributed by social service agents to those in need within the community. The coat drive will run now through January 10th.

Scrips Program: The holidays are coming, and a gift certificate to a favorite restaurant of store might be the perfect gift for those folks in your life who provide a “Shopping Challenge!” Shopping through the SCRIPs program will help your family and Memorial too. For every gift card purchased, the school receives a percentage ranging from 2% to 18%. Informational packets went home today in the backpack folders. Orders can be placed online at www.shopwithscrip.com, using Memorial School Enrollment Code: 1328L3851L195, or fill out the order form, and send back in your child’s backpack. Please make checks payable to Memorial School PTO. All orders are due on Friday, December 5th. Orders will be delivered by December 17th. Box Tops and Coke Product Bottle Caps: Please send in any box tops you have collected or Coke product bottle caps. Every label and bottle cap collected is money for our school. Box tops can be found on over 240 participating products, it’s an easy way and free way for schools to earn cash for the things they need. Collections can be dropped of in the office.

From PAC BURLINGTON: Please join us for our upcoming presentation - Bringing School Behavior to Home Monday, November 17th 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Marion Tavern* Presented by Naomi O’Brien M. Ed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), BPS. This workshop will discuss how to help bridge the gap between school and home behavior and create positive behavior systems for any environment. We will explore and discuss the four areas of the Life Skills Curriculum which is currently implemented throughout the district: Instruction-Following, Functional Language Skills, Tolerance Skills, and Empathy Skills. Strategies around how to teach these skills, reinforce them at home, as well as differentiate both the teaching and skill selection will be discussed.

Burlington Youth Soccer: U10, U12 & U14 Boys and Girls Soccer Clinic for grades 3 - 8 , will run for 7 weeks on Saturdays Nov 22-Jan 3. Each session is held at separate times for 90 minutes each. Burlington Public Schools Parent Teacher Organization Fundraiser: Join us for a delicious fundraiser to benefit Burlington Public Schools Parent Teacher Organizations on Tuesday, November 18th, at 5pm at Flatbread Pizza. $3.50 from every large & $1.75 from every small pizza sold will go to participating PTOs.
