Reminders from the Office:
From the Nurse:  All medications required during school hours is to be brought to the school by an adult parent/guardian.  Children are not to bring their own medicine, prescriptions or over the counter to school.  All medication - both prescribed and over the counter - needs to be in properly labeled packaging.  A signed order form from your healthcare provider is also required for each medication.  Medication order forms can be obtained in the Nurse’s office or online at Burlington School’s website.  Please call Leslie Cadigan, RN  or Lynn Sakey, RN  at 781-270-1724 if you have any questions.
Attendance:  At this time of year, colds, and sniffles are inevitable, but regular attendance at school is important to your child’s continuing progress.  Excessive absenteeism and tardiness can negatively impact his or her ability to learn and to excel in school.  Please remember that if your child is going to be absent for any reason, please notify us via the School Absentee Line at 781-273-7649 by 8:15am on the day of absence.  

Happenings Around Town:
Treats for Troops:  The Memorial School is once again joining other Burlington Schools in collecting Halloween Candy for our troops overseas from November 3rd - November 8th.  Over the last few years we have been able to send over 6000 lbs of candy to troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Please join in again and donate some of your Halloween candy of pick up an extra bag at the store and help us send a little Halloween cheer overseas!  Soldiers love getting cards and letters from kids back home.  If you would like to send a special message to a soldier overseas, please put your letter in the Orange Collection box along with your candy and we will make sure it gets to a soldier!  If you know of a soldier stationed overseas who would like to receive a box, please email their info to  Thank You!
Flu Clinic: The Burlington Board of Health will hold a public walk-in flu clinic on Saturday, October 25, 2014 (rescheduled from 9/27) from 12pm-3pm at Memorial School, 125 Winn Street, Burlington.  No appointment is necessary.  All flu vaccines are free, but if you have health insurance please bring your information.  All children and adults are eligible for free vaccine regardless of insurance status.  Children under age 18 must be accompanied by parent/guardian.  If possible, please wear a loose-fitting short sleeve shirt.  For the most current information, please call the BOH Flu Clinic Line at 781 238-5353.  If you have questions for the nurse, call the office at 781-270-1957.

Burlington Community Scholarship Foundation:  Come celebrate with familiar faces, rekindle friendships, and share laughs, while reminiscing about the good days.  Alumni Bash, 70s, 80s, 90s, Reunion to Benefit the Burlington Community Scholarship Foundation on Saturday, November 8th, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.  Tickets are $10.00.
