Will you be a chaperone at the BHS Post Graduation (all-night) Party?  It’s tradition for the parents of underclassmen to chaperone the party for our graduating seniors.  We still need chaperones (both men and women) for the early morning shifts on Monday, June 10th.  We have a few spots open for 2nd shift which is 12 am - 3 am and we have a lot of spots open for 3rd shift which is 3am -5am.   You don't need to have a child in the high school, any adult that does not have a senior at the party is welcome.  This is a great way to "pay it forward."  Help us this year and when your child graduates, the parents of underclassmen will be there for you!  To volunteer, or if you have any questions, please contact Michele Shields at Michele_Shields@verizon.net or 781-270-5142.

5th Grade Flash

5th Grade Memory Book Committee will meet on Tuesday evening, May 14th, at 7pm in our school library.   See you there!

Camp Bournedale Informational Meeting for Parents of Current 4th Graders

Dear Families of Current 4th Grade Students,
One of the treasured traditions at Memorial (and at all the elementary schools, in fact) is the annual 5th grade fall trip to Camp Bournedale in Plymouth, Massachusetts.  Campers depart early in the morning on one school day, and return at around 1 o'clock the next.  The experience is packed with enjoyable, science-related team building activities, and has been high on the list of special memories for our fifth graders.

On Monday, May 16th, at 6pm, the director of the camp will host an informational meeting for interested families in the auditorium at the Francis Wyman School. We hope you will be available to attend.

Happy Mother's Day to all!
Mrs. Rickershauser

MCAS Information - Test Dates for Round Two

Gr. 4:  Math: May 13, 14;     Gr. 5:   Science: May 15, 16

Dear Families,
As you know, it is important for children to arrive at school on time on these dates - well-rested and having had a good breakfast.  This will allow them to show what they know and do their very best on these assessments!  Sending in an additional healthy snack (i.e. peanut/tree-nut free granola bar, hard-boiled egg, fruit, yogurt, etc.) may help children who are unable to eat a good breakfast at home to have a bite here at school before the test, and approach it with the ‘fuel’ they need to concentrate and do their best.  Additionally, studies have shown that gum-chewing can reduce anxiety and provide additional circulation to the brain.  Students may bring in gum to chew (quietly - mouth closed, etc.) as they take the test. (Testing Sessions begin promptly at 8:30 on the dates listed above.)  Thank you, as always, for your support!
